More about the camps...
Wild West Camp:
In the western tradition of PYC, Wild West Camp is a combination of
horsemanship training, wilderness survival training, and outdoor adventure.
This year Wild West Camp is open to all ages of children and teens*.
Some of the activities planned include an outcamp; sleeping in a tent,
and cooking over a campfire by the lake. What used to be Advanced Horsemanship
Camp, Beginner Horsemanship Camp, and various wilderness camps have
merged and grown into this exciting adventure we fondly call Wild West
Camp.
Kiddie Camp
(or Preteen Camp): This is a week of fun built just for kids ages 7-12.
Activities include crafts, horses, swimming, and games. Chapel time
is alive with puppets and sing-along songs for children to enjoy!
Fun in the Sun
(or Teen Camp): This one week of camp goes a long way to showcase all
that PYC has to offer. Besides horses, swimming, and hanging out with
friends, Fun in the Sun has been known to include boating, fishing,
water-fights and other summertime fun.
DD Camp: This is
one of our favorite weeks of camp, reserved for the Developmentally
Disabled people from various group homes in the area. Extra care and
concern is taken for the safety and comfort of the campers and a good
time is had by all.
Native American
Camp: Perhaps the longest standing tradition of PYC is Native American
Camp. From the reservations of North Eastern Montana, youth come to
hear about God, and enjoy camp. High energy and enthusiasm fuel a week
of fun and learning, and the Word of God shines mightily through this
outreach.
* Recommended ages 8-18. Parental discretion should govern the minimum
age. Some children of 6 or 7 years are fully capable of being away at
camp for a week, and some are not.
